Over the past eight years Andres has worked closely with CALD communities, asylum seekers and individuals presenting complex mental health needs. The focus of his work, Torture and Trauma counselling, has taking him to different immigration detention facilities in Australia and the south pacific.
Andres has broad experience delivering Trauma-informed therapies, Cognitive and behavioural approaches, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindfulness, Narrative therapy and complex case management. He is an accredited mental health clinician and a member of the Harvard program in Refugee Trauma.
Andres has an interest in working with individuals suffering from PTSD, trauma related presentations and English as a second language. His practice is guided by humanistic approaches where the individual is capable and autonomous, with the ability to resolve their difficulties, realize their potential, and change their lives in positive ways.
