The Lived Experience Telephone Support Service (LETSS) is an after-hours telephone helpline and online chat service providing non-clinical mental health support.
Peer Workers provide informed and non-judgemental support to help in times of distress and offer an alternative to attending emergency departments.
With a comprehensive understanding of the mental health system, we can provide information about services available to you and how to navigate them.
LETSS staff have a personal lived experience of managing challenges to their mental health. They draw on their experience of recovery in their support and understanding of each person’s unique experience.
Wellbeing checks can be arranged in advance with your permission by GPs, allied health workers, family members or carers during stressful times.
You may also request a wellbeing check from a peer worker after your initial conversation.
A LETSS Peer Worker will call to check-in and see how you are doing, as well as provide information and assist with any queries you may have.
To be eligible for the Lived Experience Telephone Support Service, you need to be 16 or over and live in the Metropolitan Adelaide.
LETSS is a free service for people who experience mental health issues, their carers, families and friends.
Callers do not need a referral to call LETSS.
